Summary: This film is about the life of the superstar Lady Gaga. The film depicts every aspect of her life and issues in her life she never shares with the public. In this film you see Gaga in a sweeter light we get to see her as the funny, genuine, kindhearted, quick to serve others, sensitive, and compassionate that she is. In the film She states she’s been struggling with body pains and anxiety for some time as well as feeling lonely despite being surrounded by others much of the time. Throughout the film, she can be seen constantly on the move working on songs, rehearsing, and performing. There’s much that goes into the music business, and this is clearly seen time and again in the film. Lady Gaga speaks with passion and power and sees the world in a deeper sense. This is seen when she speaks to others and is most prevalent in her song lyrics. During the documentary, Lady Gaga visits her grandmother to share a song she wrote about Joanne. While visiting, the singer sifted through Joanne’s drawing and poems. One of the poems talks about wearing masks which is relatable not only to Lady Gaga, but to many of us suffering from an invisible illness. This film addresses all the issue she deals with and how she overcome it to be successful.
Response: I feel like this documentary was a good eye opener into the life of Lady gaga. Most famous people are not comfortable with being this exposed to the world, but lady gaga showed that she is. I feel like most famous people should be this open with their fans. Normal people hold famous people on a higher pedal stool and don’t expect them to have issues like they would. So, for Lady gaga to point out the issue she deals with and that most normal people go through I think it’s very empowering. All a normal person like me wants to know is, do the people I look up to face the same challenges like me. If my idol can overcome the challenges, I face in life then I feel like I can overcome whatever comes my way. To me the closest you can get to your idol without ever meeting them is in a documentary. With a documentary people can get close to famous people and really build a connection beyond the person talents.
